Tbilisi Observatory on the Radar.

We are excited to announce that the information about the Tbilisi Magnetic and Meteorological Observatory, one of the earliest scientific centres in the South Caucasus, has been published on the UNESCO Astronomy Heritage Portal.

It was made possible thanks to the initiative and efforts of architectural historian Maia Mania and her collaboration with the Portal, with the support of ICOMOS Georgia. ICOMOS Georgia would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Maia Mania for her contribution and the Project team for their support.

The UNESCO Astronomical Heritage Platform was created within the framework of UNESCO’s Astronomy and World Heritage Initiative and promotes the protection and preservation of astronomical heritage. Its goal is to raise awareness about the significance of astronomical sites and to create resources for their conservation and research.
